January Birthday Cupcakes and an Update!

Welcome to WNY's second false spring start for the year (and it's just the end of February).

I’ve been pretty occupied in the kitchen and with life (jury duty, woo!) but that doesn’t mean I haven’t had my fingers in proverbial pies, you know? So while I get together an event calendar because I’m trying to show my wares at a few places, here’s a little something to remind the Almighty Algorithm ™ that I live, I’m baking away, and March is going to have a bunch of fun things coming.

These were cupcakes for a six year old’s birthday: with a mix of boys and girls, vanilla and chocolate were both on the table, but since the parent wanted to appeal to all the boys and girls, I themed things without being overt (gender is a construct, people). We had blue wrappers and pink wrappers, vanilla cupcakes and chocolate cupcakes in both, with space and flower themes.

Honestly I think space is neat even if I’m not that educated in it; I always loved going to the McLaughlin Planetarium in Toronto when I was in school.
And flowers are amazing, I love them … I just have brown thumbs and that’s not only because I’ve been in the Dutch cocoa. Womp womp.

More exciting creations coming soon...

There’s also a birthday cake I made that I’d like to tell you about … after the recipient’s party. I never post treats before they’ve been seen by the person getting them – that just feels like spoilers, after all. It was sure an adventure making it: there were a few firsts for me in it!

See you soon, friends, and keep watching for robins. You know when they show up we’re heading towards spring at last. 🐦 🌷💐🌸🌼🐦
